Explore Rome’s iconic sights, sip limoncello in Sorrento and explore Ischia’s castles on this port-hopping journey around some of Italy's spectacular island gems

The natural beauty of Corsica and Italy's island-scattered east coast is clear to see on this spectacular voyage on Tradewind's Golden Horizon. Newly built, this classical ship is the world's largest square-rigged sailing vessel, combining traditional style with exceptional levels of service and comfort.

Begin your holiday in Civitavecchia, the gateway to the Italian capital, Rome, where awe-inspiring ruins and iconic monuments can be found around almost every corner. The first port of call is the unique medieval village of Porto Venere, which is located on the romantically-named Gulf of Poets. It's just a stone's throw from the more famous five towns that line the famed Cinque Terre coastline, yet is still wonderfully under the radar. The town itself is a joy to explore, but we also recommend taking to the water to see the region's beautiful caves and cliffs, or hitting the local trails on foot.

Then, swap Italian glamour for French flair as you sail across the Tyrrhenian Sea to busy Bastia, a historic port city on Corsica's northeast coast. It's then time to sip on a cooling limoncello in the lofty town of Sorrento, an Amalfi Coast favourite with sun-seeking holidaymakers. Just a short hop across the Gulf of Naples is the volcanic island of Ischia where you can explore castles, soak in thermal springs or visit pretty fishing villages.

You can be as active as you like during your cruise, with a choice of amazing optional excursions - from snorkelling trips, amazing dives, kayaking around hidden coves and stunning beaches, to wine-tastings, parks and gardens, beach bars and coastal walks.

And you will enjoy the thrill of sailing on the world's biggest square-rigged vessel - Golden Horizon will operate under sail whenever possible - as well as the onboard spa, pools, marina (complete with water sports), gym, local delicacies, lectures and entertainment.
